Shingles vaccination eligibility

Eligibility for funded shingles vaccination now includes some groups of at-risk people aged 18 years and older, including those with CKD4 and 5 (eGFR 29 or lower). See the Health NZ notice.

Nutricia prescription orders

Do not send prescription orders for Nutricia products (e.g. Fortisip) to Healthworks, as the patient will incur a higher processing fee and a delivery fee. Prescription orders should be sent to Nutricia – See Standard Nutrition Supplements.
Human cases of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in Australia and the USA

Consider HPAI in patients with symptoms who have recently travelled to countries with HPAI outbreaks and had contact with birds, sick animals, or dairy or poultry farms. Notify the Medical Officer of Health on suspicion. See Public Health Advisory.
Change in formulation and appearance of Eltroxin (levothyroxine) tablets

There has been a change in formulation of Eltroxin 100 microgram tablets, and a change in appearance of the Eltroxin 50 microgram and 100 microgram tablets. Some patients may require additional thyroid function testing. See PHARMAC Medicine Notice .
